Sliced walnuts can be used to add flavour to any stir fry, salads, potatoes, pasta, rice or for snacking. One example is to use sliced walnuts instead of walnut pieces on the top of carrot cake. The sliced walnuts create a unique texture while only using 50% less walnuts than you would traditionally.
Walnuts are a deciduous tree from North and South America, Europe and Asian regions.
Walnuts provide many calories, contain carbohydrates, protein, fats, calcium, phosphorous, potassium, small amounts of sodium and iron, magnesium, copper, manganese, zinc, vitamin A, some vitamin C, vitamin E, all the vitamin B group including B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, and some biotin and folic acid.
